LED bulbs update is coming

But this blog also has the purposes of parking information while rearranging fun-led-light my LED light guide. And have I been busy!

What keeps me very busy in my spare time is the full update of the site with style sheets (CSS.) I find it a pain in the neck that old tables constructed without styles are poorly handled by sheets when it comes to consistency. In particular, IExplorer seems to have it's own mind how to read the styling.

But enough of that.

Meanwhile, I am also slowly updating my info on LED light bulbs. Why you ask? It's because the information I am getting doesn't seem consistent and sometimes outright misleading. Forecasting the future is one thing. But it is badly needed to sort out stuff all the same.

Electricity consumed in a commercial building for lighting is 35% of total electricity and it accounts for 12-15% average household energy bill. LED bulbs consumes less watt to operate, long life 30000 to 50000 hrs compared to an incandescent bulb 2000 hrs. Made from non-toxic materials disposal is not an issue. Electricity consumption is one tenth of incandescent bulb and less than half of CFL. No UV and RF radiation, lesser carbon dioxide emission almost half of the CFL. LEDs can withstand high levels of shock and vibration. Its able to convert almost all the energy used into the light output, LEDs generate less than 30% of the heat of traditional lighting technologies . LEDs, being solid state components, are difficult to damage with external shock.

LED Lights and specifically LED T8 Tube lights are becoming standard equipment in remodels and new build outs. The technology has finally crested the "poor performance" category and we are now seeing high quality, high output http://www.creativelightings.com/LED-SMD-T8-Tube-Light-4-foot-300LED-17W-p/cl-smdt8-4-dw17w300-ul.htm hit the market place. Be aware of faulty 5 year warranties on tube lights. No factory honors a 5 year 247 warranty. The best offered is a 3 year full replacement warranty.
